4 good questions
Last week I had a final meeting with a group I worked with for a few months. The mission was to improve team dynamics and relationships and help them find energy and focus on the future.
In this final meet-up with the group, my main purpose was to observe how they worked together as a team and also clarify the next steps moving forward.
They started their weekly meeting, and to my surprise, the team had compiled four questions as an introduction for their meeting. Although I had mentioned these questions amongst a variety of ideas that create focus and provide energy in team meetings, I did not realize that the group had taken this on to be the first item on their weekly agenda.
Meeting Agenda part 1:
Choose one of the following questions and tell me about your week:
• What progress have you made this week?
• What new knowledge have you learned this week?
• How have you developed your capacity this week?
• What are the results you are most satisfied with?
So, how do you start your week?
You can take any one of the questions and reflect for yourself on this past week. This only needs to take 5 minutes. Take note of your progress, new knowledge, improved capacity, or results you are pleased with. And if you like this approach, develop a habit of returning to these questions every week.
What you will notice is you will have better and better weeks as you recognize how much progress you have made, developing new knowledge, increasing capacity and achieving results.
