"When Christmas is over, it will be so nice to relax!"
I have heard these words so often in the last week .
Hmm ... When Christmas is over ....
Why wait? I suggest you take a different approach this year.
During Christmas time, I will relax.
From now until Christmas time I will relax.
Today, I will relax.
While reading the rest of this newsletter…
In last week’s newsletter, I wrote about finding the quiet space in all activities. You can read about this here: Feeling overwhelmed?
Between what happens in life and your reaction is a space. We can recognize this space as a fundamental element of life, and of being human, something before your reactions occur.
The space is what is present before your thoughts pop up and fill the space. The space is not empty or void, it carries life qualities within it that I notice people easily recognize - if they slow down a little bit.
Calm, confidence and clarity
Things look simpler, Life looks simpler,
We see solutions to questions that have bothered us
And, if we reflect a little more, we recognize this space a fundamental element of life, being human and being alive, not as something to accomplish or achieve.
Do you feel that because of all of the things you need to do before or at Christmas time that you are living in a busy, reactive mode and have lost contact with that space?
The good news is, In the space (between stimulus and response) nothing can affect you. Things are as they are; easy, challenging, busy, peaceful.
Slow down and note ... before your thoughts about everything that has to be done before Christmas, or how are you going to get the whole family to work harmoniously this year, there is a space.
Being aware of that space will allow you to experience a peaceful and very Merry Christmas!
I hope you and yours have a joy-filled, peaceful holiday.
